Job Description
Julimos, a leading technology staffing company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Technician to join our team. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data center infrastructure and equipment. This position requires strong technical expertise in data center operations, hardware troubleshooting, and network connectivity.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain data center equipment, including servers, storage systems, network switches, and power distribution units (PDUs).
- Monitor data center infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and availability.
- Troubleshoot hardware and network issues, identify root causes and implement timely resolutions.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as server upgrades, firmware updates, and hardware replacements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data center operations, security, and environmental controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain IT projects and initiatives, ensuring seamless integration with data center infrastructure.
- Document all installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities comprehensively and organized.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to data center incidents in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements, and provide recommendations for improving the company’s data center infrastructure and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations or a similar role.
- Strong technical knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, network switches, and PDUs.
- Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Knowledge of network protocols and connectivity, including Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and InfiniBand.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical individuals.
